Description

The Yamaha HS7 W is the white version of the HS7, the 6.5″ model in Yamaha's HS series of nearfield studio monitors. It is intended for mixing and music production in home and project studios, where you need to hear a recording as it is, without extra bass or treble added by the speaker.

Highlights

  • Bi-amp design: 60 W for the 6.5″ cone woofer and 35 W for the 1″ dome tweeter, 95 W in total.
  • Frequency range 43 Hz – 30 kHz (−10 dB), crossover at 2 kHz.
  • ROOM CONTROL lowers the range below 500 Hz by 2 or 4 dB when the speaker stands near a wall; HIGH TRIM adjusts the treble by ±2 dB.
  • MDF cabinet with three-way mitred corners against resonance; Yamaha's port design lowers audible port noise by up to 6 dB.
  • Balanced XLR and TRS 6.35 mm inputs that also accept unbalanced sources.

In your setup

Connect a pair of HS7 W to the main outputs of an audio interface, a mixer or a keyboard with XLR or TRS cables; each speaker has its own LEVEL knob with a centre click, which makes it easy to set both sides the same. In size the HS7 sits between the HS5 and the HS8, and Yamaha's HS8S subwoofer from the same series can be added later if you want more low end.
