Description
The Genelec 7370A studio subwoofer was built to deliver superb definition and adapt intelligently to your listening space — whether a professional studio or a home karaoke system — for accurate, powerful and controlled LF reproduction.
Genelec 7370A design overview
The Genelec 7370A impresses with its sheer size compared with the brand's other active subwoofers. It measures 555 x 625 x 496 mm (W x H x D) and weighs 48 kg, making it extremely solid and durable.
The enclosure is again finished in rigid cast aluminium with an elegant, understated black powder coat. The connectors are placed neatly and flexibly on the side panel. Its distinctive shape and creative details make the Genelec 7370A not just a studio subwoofer but an attractive addition to any entertainment space.
Genelec 7370A sound quality
Powerful performance
With a large 30 cm woofer and up to 400 W RMS of power, the Genelec 7370A delivers extremely forceful, powerful bass. Its high-efficiency Class D amplifier runs reliably with maximum energy efficiency.
LSE spiral enclosure design for clean, accurate sound
The Genelec 7370A offers more SPL and deeper low-frequency extension than the smaller smart subwoofers, and its Laminar Spiral Enclosure design delivers clear, accurate performance with extremely low distortion — even at high playback levels.
The Genelec 7370A is built to give reliable service for decades, even in environments with the most demanding audio standards.
Proprietary GLM software
The 7370A also offers built-in bass management and multichannel connectivity, configured and calibrated with Genelec's patented GLM software. GLM analyses the acoustics of your room and intelligently adjusts frequency response, level, delay and crossover phase so that your monitors and subwoofer blend perfectly. It makes it easy to create a fully optimised listening experience and impressive, distinctive mixes.
The Genelec SAM system gives studio monitors smart, solution-oriented, comprehensive networking, supporting analogue and digital signals in almost any working environment.
Crossover working at low signal level
The Genelec 7370A uses an electronic crossover that splits the audio signal into separate frequency bands, each routed to its own power amplifier and connected to transducers optimised for that specific band.
Genelec's active digital crossover also handles functions such as additional signal processing, driver protection, delay and equalisation, supporting proper current handling and operation at low signal levels.
A bass management system that handles multichannel low-frequency content.
Low-frequency effects (LFE) are designated to be directed to and reproduced by loudspeakers capable of handling them. With multichannel audio, a professional sound system must be able to reproduce 20 Hz to 20 kHz on every channel. With the Genelec 7370A, the bass management system — using analogue electronics or software-based filtering — filters the low-frequency information out of the main channels and routes it to one or more subwoofer feeds.
Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS™)
Since its official launch in 2013, Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) technology has met the European Union's ErP Directive and Genelec's own sustainability standards. The ISS™ circuit monitors the loudspeaker's input signal and detects whether it is in use; when no activity is detected, it automatically puts the loudspeaker into a low-power sleep state drawing less than 0.5 W.
