Description
The PreSonus R65 V2 is a 6.5-inch active studio monitor built around an Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter. It is aimed at producers and mix engineers who need to hear fine high-frequency detail and fast transients, including those working with high-resolution audio.
Highlights
- Custom AMT tweeter with a folded Kapton membrane less than 0.01 mm thick and a 6.8 sq in diaphragm, driven by its own 65 W Class A/B amplifier.
- 6.5″ woven composite woofer with a dedicated 75 W Class A/B amplifier.
- 45 Hz – 22 kHz frequency response, 2.7 kHz crossover and 104 dB peak SPL at 1 m.
- Tweeter housing that keeps dispersion wide horizontally and focused vertically, reducing reflections from the desk, ceiling and floor.
- Low Cut (flat, 80 or 100 Hz), Mid (±6 dB at 1 kHz) and High (±6 dB shelf at 10 kHz) controls plus a three-position Acoustic Space switch.
In your setup
Balanced XLR and 6.35 mm TRS inputs connect to an audio interface, mixer or monitor controller, and the RCA input covers other line-level sources. When the speaker has to stand against a wall or in a corner, set Acoustic Space to -2 dB or -4 dB to compensate. The power supply is factory-set to either 100–120 V or 220–240 V, so check that the label matches the 220 V mains used in Vietnam. For Bluetooth playback, PreSonus suggests adding its MicroStation BT.
