Description

The Wharfedale Pro DELTA-AX18B is an 18-inch active subwoofer for PA systems that need deep, forceful bass: clubs, touring rigs, events and demanding installations. Its 18-inch driver with a 4-inch voice coil sits in a bass reflex cabinet of 15 mm birch plywood and is driven by a high-efficiency Class D amplifier rated at 1000 W continuous and 2000 W peak.

In a venue or at an event, the sub takes the feed from the mixer and sends a high-passed signal on to the full-range tops through its link outputs, so no separate crossover is needed. The low-pass control sets where the sub hands over to the tops, and the phase switch helps line the two up. A full-range speaker can sit on a 35 mm pole fitted into the top of the cabinet for a compact stack.

For a DJ booth or a dance floor, the 18-inch driver and 1000 W amplifier take care of kick drums and bass lines, leaving the tops free for mids and highs. The switch-mode power supply runs on 100–120 V or 220–240 V mains at 50/60 Hz. The cabinet measures 539 x 539 x 650 mm and weighs 38.4 kg.
