Description
The Studiomaster TRX18S is the passive 18″ subwoofer of the TRX series, a range of MDF cabinets with active and passive models from 10″ up to 2 × 18″. It is driven by an external power amplifier, and Studiomaster places the series in bars, coffee bars, clubs, stages and other small to medium sound systems.

In your setup
A passive subwoofer sits after the power amplifier: the mixer or DJ mixer feeds a crossover or speaker processor, the low band goes to an amplifier channel rated for 8 Ω and 600 W RMS, and from there to the TRX18S. Studiomaster lists no built-in crossover for this model, so the split between sub and tops has to happen upstream. Within the TRX series, the passive TRX10, TRX12, TRX15 and TRX215 full-range cabinets can complete the system, and the TRX18SA is the active 18″ alternative if you prefer not to use a separate amplifier. The TRX manual asks for two or more people when installing or moving the speaker.
