Description
The Yamaha DXS18 is an active 18-inch band-pass subwoofer for event, club and stage systems that need deep, powerful bass: 136 dB maximum SPL and a range of 32–120 Hz (-10 dB).
An 18-inch woofer with a 4-inch voice coil is driven by a Class D amplifier with 1,020 W dynamic power (800 W continuous). D-XSUB offers BOOST for punch, XTD LF for extended low end, and NORMAL; the low-pass filter sets 80, 100 or 120 Hz to match the full-range speakers.
Two XLR inputs and two XLR outputs (THROUGH or HPF POST — the signal with the low end removed, for the tops) let you plug the DJ mixer into the sub and link on to the main speakers. A CARDIOID mode for arrays of subs and a POLARITY switch complete it.
The meranti plywood cabinet has a polyurea coating, two steel handles and an M20 pole socket for a full-range speaker on top; it measures 563 × 683 × 721 mm and weighs 49.7 kg.
