Description
The Proel S18A is the largest of the four powered subwoofers in Proel's S Series: an 18-inch woofer in a hybrid band-pass cabinet that reaches down to 36 Hz. It is meant for DJs, bands and rental setups that want a full-size sub under their full-range speakers, and it comes with wheels for moving it.
Highlights
- 18″ high-excursion woofer with a 4″ voice coil in a hybrid band-pass (HBP) enclosure
- Class D amplifier with a switch-mode power supply: 600 W continuous, 1,200 W peak
- Frequency response of 36–140 Hz; maximum SPL of 131 dB (peak, at 1 m)
- 24 dB/oct crossover selectable at 80 or 125 Hz, and a 0°/180° phase switch
- Two Neutrik combo inputs with XLR link outputs and high-passed XLR outputs for the tops
- Four 75 mm wheels, two flush handles and a pole socket on a 15/18 mm plywood cabinet
In your setup
Patch the mixer's left and right mains into the S18A and run its OUT sockets to the full-range speakers: they carry the signal with the lows filtered at 80 or 125 Hz, leaving the bottom octaves to the sub. LINK passes the input unchanged if you add a second S18A or more powered boxes, and the level control, ground lift and phase switch sit on the same rear panel. Plan transport around its size: 508 × 630 × 645 mm and 36 kg, growing to 745 mm deep with the wheels. A mains selector covers 220–240 V and 100–120 V. The pole socket accepts a speaker pole, and Proel lists its KP210 (825–1,320 mm) as a matching accessory, sold separately.
