Description
The Yamaha HS7 is a studio monitor with 95 W of total power (LF: 60 W, HF: 35 W). It delivers excellent sonic performance, greatly enhanced by a sophisticated mounting system. Every small detail, down to the position of the screws, has been meticulously designed to give the best possible response and eliminate unwanted vibration and resonance. This lets you get the very best sound out of your recordings and productions without distortion or colouration. It combines Yamaha's accumulated knowledge and expertise with modern audio technology. Its elegant, understated black finish stands out in your home space.
Yamaha HS7 studio monitor: key features
- The sound of the HS Series studio monitors
- Flexible setup (HS-I only)
- Built-in power and bi-amplification
- Noise reduction technology
- Smart controls and connectivity
The new-generation Yamaha HS Series design
Since the 1970s, the iconic woofers and signature sound of Yamaha's near-field reference monitors have become a genuine industry standard.
The Yamaha HS7 is designed to give you the most accurate experience possible, providing an ideal sonic foundation to build on throughout the mixing process.
Combining their accumulated knowledge and expertise with advanced audio technologies, Yamaha's speaker engineering team tested and then optimised every aspect that contributes to a finished speaker.
The second-generation HS Series also adds a new 6.5" model to the line-up, bringing its exceptional accuracy to an even wider range of recording environments.
High-performance units
HS Series speakers use an amplifier perfectly matched to the transducers used in each model of the series.
With a bi-amp design that gives the woofer and the tweeter their own dedicated amplifiers, every HS Series speaker consistently delivers high-resolution sound with an exceptionally flat response across the audio spectrum.
The Yamaha HS7 has newly developed transducers
The Yamaha HS7 has newly developed transducers that achieve a remarkably smooth response over a wide bandwidth.
These transducers use an advanced magnetic design that regulates the flow of the magnetic field to give natural, seamless sonic transitions.

Controls and connectivity
The full-range HS Series models have two response controls with detailed settings that let them adapt to the acoustics of rooms of different shapes and sizes.
For inputs, the full-range HS speakers accept a wide range of balanced and unbalanced sources such as mixers, keyboards and audio interfaces via XLR and TRS phone jacks.
The HS7 has a noise-reducing design
In the HS7, the design of the speaker port can greatly affect the overall clarity of the sound. Normally, vortices at both ends of the port can create air vibrations inside it, causing unwanted noise.
By applying advanced noise reduction technology combined with thorough analysis of visualised sound, Yamaha's engineers were able to control and reduce the vortices.
New HS installation version
The new installation version of the famous Yamaha HS7 studio monitor includes mounting points and screws for installation. It is compatible with wall, ceiling and baton mounts.
Yamaha HS7 low-resonance enclosure design
Yamaha HS7 cabinets are designed to eliminate unwanted resonance and push the accuracy of sound reproduction to its limits.
The enclosures are built from a very dense, resilient wood with a well-damped acoustic response, ideal for a reference monitor.
