Description
Design of the Yamaha HS5 studio monitor
Part of the HS series, this studio monitor has been carefully engineered by Yamaha, from its materials down to every dimension.
- The cabinet is made of extra-durable MDF that resists vibration and withstands the heat of the electronics.
- Every joint of the cabinet uses a three-way mitre joint for rigid corners that improve sound reproduction.
Although the port is at the rear, it does not cause stray reflections; instead it lets the bass breathe without adding noise.
Highlights of this studio monitor
The Yamaha HS5 studio monitor is a perfect match of amplifier and drivers. An advanced 2-way design for the 5-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter produces natural sound.
When the speaker is placed close to a wall, the low end can become exaggerated; the Room Control lets you reduce this unnatural boost. In addition, High Trim lets you adjust the high frequencies flexibly.
The speaker connects easily to other equipment through precise XLR and TRS inputs that accept both balanced and unbalanced signals.
