Description
The CORE121 is a step up from Studiomaster's DIRECT systems. Its array is curved rather than straight, with three 5" neodymium full-range drivers and nine 1" dome tweeters, covering 100° horizontally by 55° vertically. It sits on a 12" bass-reflex subwoofer in a painted wooden cabinet, driven by 700 W RMS, while the array gets its own 300 W RMS. Maximum SPL is 124 dB.
Set-up is quick: the height-adjustable pole is gas-assisted and wired inside, so you place the array on top and only the subwoofer needs a power cable. The 4-channel mixer on the sub takes two mics or line sources, an instrument on the Hi-Z input and a stereo player on RCA or Bluetooth. The 24-bit DSP offers DJ, Music and Vocal modes, EQ, a limiter, output delay and level metering.
With more output and low end than the DIRECT121, it suits DJs playing small clubs, bars and private parties, bands, and events where speech and music share one system.
