Description
The IK Multimedia iLoud MTM is a compact studio monitor for producers, DJs who make music and engineers in small rooms: IK built it to rival 5–8-inch monitors with just two 3.5-inch drivers, in a 264 × 160 × 130 mm cabinet weighing 2.5 kg.
Each speaker is a 2-way, 3-driver bi-amped design: two 3.5-inch polypropylene mid-woofers around a 1-inch silk-dome tweeter (the MTM layout), two Class D amplifiers with 100 W RMS in total (70 W low, 30 W high) and a linear-phase crossover at 3.1 kHz. Response is 50 Hz – 24 kHz (±2 dB), with a maximum SPL of 103 dB.
What sets it apart is the built-in ARC room calibration: plug the included MEMS measurement microphone into the ARC socket and the speaker measures the room and corrects for it on its own, no computer needed. Switches set the low-frequency extension (40, 50 or 60 Hz), low and high shelves, and a desk position.
In a producer's corner it connects to an audio interface or a DJ mixer's booth output through a balanced XLR / ¼″ TRS combo input; the included 0–20° tilting stand points the tweeter at your ears on a desk.
