Description
The Wharfedale Pro XR3500 is the most powerful model in the XR series of two-channel power amplifiers. Built into an all-steel 2U rack chassis around a heavy-duty toroidal transformer, it is meant for passive PA systems that need plenty of headroom: large full-range cabinets, subwoofers, touring rigs and fixed installations.

In a club or event rig the XR3500 usually sits in a rack next to the speaker processor or the mixer. Stereo mode drives a left and right pair of passive speakers. Parallel mode sends one input to both channels while each keeps its own level control, a common way to run two identical subwoofers from a single sub feed. Bridge mode joins both channels into one 2800 W output for a single heavy load. The front panel has a power LED plus signal, clip and fault LEDs for each channel, and the variable-speed fans pull air from front to back, so keep the rack vents clear.
This is an amplifier for passive loudspeakers only; powered speakers and studio or DJ monitors with built-in amplifiers do not need it. Before connecting, check that the speakers' power handling and impedance suit the ratings above, and use proper speakON cables of heavy gauge.
