Description
The Yamaha MG12XUK is a compact 12-channel analog mixer from the MG XU line, with six microphone preamps and a built-in USB audio interface in a 315 × 297 mm footprint. It works well for small bands, events and home studios that need more mic inputs than a 10-channel mixer offers but have little room on the desk.
Highlights
- Six mono mic/line channels on combo XLR/TRS jacks, each with a D-PRE class-A preamp, 26 dB PAD, 80 Hz high-pass filter and 1-knob compressor.
- Three stereo line channels; channels 7/8 and 9/10 also accept RCA.
- 3-band EQ (±15 dB) and SPX effects with 24 programs; footswitch jack for an FC5.
- USB Audio Class 2.0 interface, 2 in / 2 out at up to 24-bit/192 kHz; works with an iPad through Apple's camera adapter.
- −83 dB crosstalk and +48 V phantom power for condenser mics.
- Metal chassis weighing 3.0 kg, powered by the supplied PA-10 adaptor.
In your setup
Mics and instruments plug into channels 1–6, keyboards or a DJ controller into the stereo channels, and powered speakers into the balanced XLR Stereo Out; the Monitor Out and FX Send use 6.35 mm jacks. Connected to a Mac or PC, the USB link records the stereo mix and plays tracks back into the mixer. A Cubase AI download is included, and Cubasis LE for iPad is available from the App Store.
