Key features of the Yamaha MG10X mixer

  • The Yamaha MG10X has a distinctive, compact design that suits halls and stages well
  • 10-channel mixer: up to 4 mics / 10 line inputs (4 mono + 3 stereo), 1 stereo bus, 1 AUX (including FX)
  • D-PRE mic preamps with an inverted Darlington circuit and MG01 op-amps
  • High-quality filtering lets the MG10XU remove noise and hum thoroughly
  • Built-in 1-knob compressors, with sound shaping through EQ & high-pass filters
  • 24 SPX effects and versatile connectivity: AUX / effect sends / group & XLR connectors.

A mixer is an essential tool for any professional musician. Today, Linh Anh Electronics is pleased to introduce the Yamaha MG10X - the new version in Yamaha's MG Series. With a control surface offering 10 input channels in total — 4 mic, 4 mono and 4 stereo inputs — the mixer covers a wide range of connections and pairs easily with other equipment.

Compact design and an intuitive, easy-to-use layout

The Yamaha MG10X analog mixer is built on a solid, durable metal chassis. Yamaha has carefully designed it for optimal convection cooling, and the internal layout keeps the power supply separate from the analog circuitry to minimise noise and extend the unit's lifespan. Sturdy and reliable, the MG10X is well suited to rental, recording and all kinds of installations.

To protect the mixer, the controls on its top panel pass any force or pressure on the knobs to the chassis rather than to the circuit board or internal components. The unit is very compact — (H x W x D) 244 x 71 x 294 mm — and weighs only 2.1 kg, about the size of a laptop, so it is easy to install and carry from place to place.

D-PRE preamps: the foundation of outstanding sound

The Class-A D-PRE preamps built into the Yamaha MG10X use an inverted Darlington circuit with two transistors to deliver high output at a higher impedance. As a result, the D-PRE offers an extremely wide frequency range, letting the analog mixer carry the signal in a controlled, detailed and clear way — a true-to-source sonic foundation that saves you a lot of time and effort in your mixes.

The result is high-quality sound across the range: natural, musical lows, smooth, airy highs and natural mids, with very low distortion.

An analog mixer with high-quality MG01 op-amps

The head amp determines the sound quality, and the op-amps are among the most important parts of a head amp circuit. The MG series — and the MG10X in particular — is equipped with new, high-quality MG01 op-amps, developed in cooperation with semiconductor manufacturers.

While many other op-amps are chosen for their electrical design and efficiency, Yamaha worked directly with semiconductor makers to put sound quality first. The MG01 op-amps stand out with a redesigned circuit, components and wiring layout, using materials such as high-quality silicon rings and copper wire.

The Yamaha MG10X features modern 1-knob compressors

Yamaha has reinvented the one-knob compressor — a new standard in the audio industry — letting you apply compression instantly with a single knob on the mixer. Compression plays an essential role in any recording or live performance by shaping the dynamics of an audio signal when you need livelier guitars, punchier bass, tighter snares and clearer vocals.

Shaping your sound with EQ & high-pass filters

Yamaha MG mixers inherit the design benefits of professional audio equipment: a 3-band EQ on every mono channel gives you precise control over your sound, while the high-pass filter removes low-frequency noise for a smoother, cleaner mix.

Versatile connectivity on the Yamaha MG10X

AUX / Effect Sends / Group

The MG10X provides an AUX send to expand sound reinforcement or recording setups, letting you add effects, feed external recorders or drive a monitor system. Alongside the master send controls and a single stereo bus, the MG10X adds 1 stereo group whose outputs can be used to group channels conveniently. Assign switches for the stereo bus and the group bus sit next to each channel fader.

XLR connectors

The main stereo outputs use XLR connectors to prevent accidental signal loss and keep the signal stable even in the most demanding environments. This means the Yamaha MG10X lets you create, record and play back your mixes through these connections.

Built-in SPX digital effects on the MG10X

Whether you are performing music or not, adding digital effects gives a mix a polished, professional finish. With 24 editable digital effects, the Yamaha MG10X offers a complete toolkit to take your mixes to the next level. In particular, high-quality reverbs and delays add space to the sound with realism and a natural feel.
