Description
The Wharfedale Pro GPL-8 is a compact passive loudspeaker from the GPL installation series, built around an 8″ Beyma coaxial driver. Wharfedale designed it for permanent installs such as bars, nightclubs, theatres and live music rooms, where a small box has to deliver clear, even sound and mount neatly on a wall or a rigging point.

- 97 dB sensitivity (2.83 V / 1 m) and a 65 Hz – 20 kHz response (±3 dB).
- Birch plywood cabinet in black or white Tough-Tone paint with a steel grille; four M8 and two M10 rigging points.
- Steel flying yoke included; wall brackets are available as an option.
In your setup
As a passive speaker, the GPL-8 runs from an external power amplifier connected to either of its two 4-pole speaker connectors. Wharfedale recommends a high-pass filter at 53 Hz (Butterworth, 18 dB/oct) and offers FIR presets plus EASE .gll data, so installers can model coverage before anything goes on the wall. When a room needs more low end, the same GPL series includes band-pass and bass-reflex installation subwoofers such as the GPL-28B and GPL-115B.
