Yamaha DXR12mkII

The DXR12mkII puts a 12-inch woofer and a 1.75-inch neodymium compression driver behind an 1100 W Class-D amplifier (950 W low, 150 W high; 700 W continuous). It reaches up to 134 dB SPL at 1 m, the same peak level as the 15-inch DXR15mkII, in a cabinet that weighs 18.6 kg. The frequency range is 52 Hz to 20 kHz with 90 x 60 degree coverage.

Yamaha developed the mkII series with input from the touring loudspeaker specialists at NEXO. A 48-bit DSP handles FIR-X tuning, a linear-phase crossover for clear vocals and stable imaging, and D-CONTOUR, a multi-band dynamic processor: FOH/MAIN adds low end when the speaker is on a pole, MONITOR reduces the bass build-up you get on the floor. The symmetrical ABS cabinet sits at a 50 degree angle as a wedge and can be used in mirrored left/right pairs.

The 3-channel mixer accepts a mic or line signal on XLR, two jack inputs and an RCA pair, with a high-pass filter (100 or 120 Hz) for use with a subwoofer. THRU and LINK OUT connectors make it easy to chain speakers. It is a good size for DJ events, live bands, clubs and school halls, either as the main pair or as stage monitors; it has a 35 mm pole socket with 0 or 7 degree tilt, M10 rigging points and an optional UB-DXR12 U-bracket.
