Description
The Yamaha DBR12 is a 2-way, bi-amped powered speaker with a 12-inch woofer and a 1-inch compression driver (1.4-inch diaphragm). Its balance of size and power lets one model do many jobs: front of house, stage monitor or side fill.
The Class D amplifier delivers 1,000 W dynamic power (800 W low, 200 W high) for a maximum SPL of 131 dB and a response of 52 Hz – 20 kHz (-10 dB). A linear-phase FIR-X crossover at 2.1 kHz and a 90° × 60° constant-directivity horn keep the sound clear and even across the audience.
A 2-channel mixer is built in: channel 1 is a combo socket with a MIC/LINE switch for a microphone or instrument; channel 2 is a combo socket plus an RCA pair for a DJ mixer's master output or a computer. The XLR output switches between THRU (channel 1) and MIX (channels 1 + 2) to feed more speakers. D-CONTOUR has FOH/MAIN and MONITOR modes, with a 100 or 120 Hz high-pass filter for use with a subwoofer.
The plastic cabinet weighs 15.8 kg, with two handles, a 35 mm pole socket and rigging points; its 50° angled side lets it lie down as a floor monitor.
