Description
The Yamaha DBR10 is the smallest model in Yamaha's DBR series of powered loudspeakers: a 10″ two-way speaker with a 700 W bi-amp and a simple 2-channel mixer, in a 10.5 kg plastic cabinet with one top handle. Yamaha positions it as a utility speaker – a main speaker for small performances, DJ sets and speeches, or a floor monitor.
Highlights
- 700 W dynamic power (500 W for the woofer, 200 W for the 1″ compression driver) and up to 129 dB SPL at 1 m.
- FIR-X tuning: a linear-phase crossover at 2.1 kHz; frequency range 55 Hz – 20 kHz, coverage 90° × 60°.
- D-CONTOUR processing with FOH/MAIN and MONITOR settings, or off.
- Channel 1 takes a microphone or line signal on a combo jack; channel 2 takes line sources on a combo jack or a pair of RCA jacks.
- 50° wedge angle for floor monitoring, 35 mm pole socket and two M8 points for eyebolts or brackets (sold separately).
In your setup
For a small DJ gig, connect the controller or mixer to the RCA or combo input of channel 2 and the MC's microphone to channel 1 – the speaker mixes both itself. Set the XLR output to MIX to pass both channels on to a second DBR10 or another powered speaker, or to THRU to send channel 1 alone. On a 35 mm pole the DBR10 works as the main speaker; laid on the floor in its wedge position with D-CONTOUR on MONITOR, it serves as a monitor for the DJ booth or the stage. A four-speed fan cools the amplifier.
