Description

The Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 (4th Gen) is a compact USB-C audio interface with four inputs and four outputs, aimed at musicians, producers, podcasters and DJs who record at home or in a small studio and need more than one stereo pair of outputs.

In a DJ or production setup, the four outputs are the main step up from a two-channel interface: outputs 1–2 can feed studio monitors, for example, while 3–4 go to a second pair of speakers, a DJ mixer channel or an outboard effect. MIDI In and Out connect a synth or drum machine without a separate MIDI interface, and Loopback lets you record audio playing on the computer, such as a browser or a call, together with your inputs.

Auto Gain sets recording levels for you and Clip Safe pulls the gain back when clipping is likely, which helps beginners get clean takes. Focusrite Control 2 handles routing on Windows and macOS, with a remote app for iOS and Android, and the software package includes Ableton Live Lite, Pro Tools Intro+ and Cubase LE along with the Hitmaker Expansion plug-ins.
