Description
The PreSonus Quantum ES 4 is a four-in, four-out USB-C audio interface for producers and musicians who need to record up to four microphones or instruments at once. Its top panel carries LED meters and one multipurpose knob for monitor, gain and headphone levels.
Highlights
- Four MAX-HD mic preamps with 75 dB of digitally controlled analog gain and 48 V phantom power switchable per channel.
- An Auto Gain button that sets recording levels for microphones and instruments.
- Two front instrument inputs designed with Fender engineers for guitar and bass.
- 24-bit conversion at sample rates up to 192 kHz.
- Four DC-coupled TRS outputs (main L/R plus line 3/4), two headphone outputs and 3.5 mm MIDI in/out.
- Bus-powered over USB-C, with an auxiliary USB-C power input for hosts that cannot supply enough current.
In your setup
Connect your main studio monitors to the Main outputs and a second pair to line outputs 3/4; speaker switching lets you compare a mix on both. Outputs 3/4 can instead feed a headphone amplifier for a separate cue mix, and each headphone output can carry its own source, chosen in the Universal Control app on a computer or mobile device. PreSonus includes a Fender Studio Pro licence when you register the hardware. The MIDI ports are 3.5 mm Type B, so you need adapters for 5-pin DIN gear. The unit measures 213 × 48.3 × 158 mm and weighs 0.82 kg.
