Equipped with high-performance 24-bit/192kHz AD-DA converters, the Scarlett delivers the same professional sound quality found across the whole third-generation series. The 3rd-gen 4i4 recording interface has two of the best-performing Scarlett mic preamps ever. They feature an optional Air setting that recreates the Air effect of Focusrite's original ISA mic preamps, making your recordings sound brighter and more open.

Record guitar or bass through two high-headroom instrument inputs without unwanted clipping or distortion, and get creative with four flexible line inputs — two on the front with gain control and two fixed-level inputs on the back — letting you record up to four mono sources or two stereo line-level sources such as synthesizers or drum machines with guaranteed clarity.

A pair of virtual loopback inputs lets you capture a stereo feed of any combination of hardware input channels and software playback channels — making podcasting, live streaming and sampling easier. The ultra-low latency of the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 (3rd Gen) lets you monitor through your own plug-in effects in real time, so you hear your parts the way you imagine them and record better performances. If you prefer the simplicity and convenience of monitoring your inputs directly with guaranteed low latency, just flip the Direct Monitor switch.

Keep an eye on your levels with intuitive halo indicators

The innovative halo indicators on this compact recording interface always tell you when you have a good signal level for recording. If the halo is red, your signal is clipping and you should turn the gain down. The halo briefly turns amber as the level returns to a healthy range, at which point it turns green.
