Description

The Yamaha HPH-MT5 is a closed-back, over-ear studio monitor headphone from Yamaha's MT series. Yamaha designed it for the studio, home music production and personal listening, with a balanced response that stays close to the source and a folding build that is easy to carry.

Highlights

40 mm dynamic drivers with CCAW voice coils, frequency response 20 Hz – 20 kHz.
Closed-back circumaural earcups for good isolation from the room.
51 Ω impedance, 100 dB/mW sensitivity and up to 1,600 mW input power.
245 g without cable, synthetic leather low-resistance cushions and an adjustable slider for long sessions.
Earcups swivel for one-ear monitoring, and the arms fold for transport.
3 m straight cable with a 3.5 mm plug and a threaded 6.3 mm adaptor.

In your setup

The 3.5 mm plug fits laptops, phones and compact audio interfaces; with the threaded 6.3 mm adaptor screwed on, the headphones connect to mixers, DJ mixers and studio gear with a full-size jack. The 3 m straight cable leaves room to move around a desk or booth. Single-ear monitoring by turning one earcup is handy when you cue the next track while listening to the room with the other ear.
