The JBL VM300 microphone is a high-end professional series from world-famous JBL. It is also one of the JBL wireless microphones many customers are interested in, thanks to advanced features that only a few microphones on the market offer today. The JBL VM300 works well for home karaoke systems, commercial karaoke, stages, music lounges...
1. Design of the JBL VM300 wireless microphone
The JBL VM300 wireless microphone has a distinctly professional, modern design, carefully crafted to meet the demanding requirements of users in karaoke and professional performance. The system consists of 1 compact SR300 receiver and 2 HT300 handheld transmitters, all optimised to deliver clear, stable and powerful sound pickup.
SR300 Receiver Design
The JBL VM300's SR300 receiver has a minimalist yet very sturdy design in high-grade aluminium alloy, which increases durability and impact resistance. Each side of the receiver has separate controls for the two microphone channels, so you can easily adjust volume, frequency and other settings.
In the centre of the receiver is a sharp LCD screen that shows separate information for each microphone, making it easy to monitor their status. The JBL logo stands out in the left corner, a mark of the brand's class.
The back of the receiver holds the dedicated connectors, ensuring compatibility with many different sound systems. In addition, 2 powerful built-in UHF antennas improve reception for a wider, more stable operating range and less signal interference in use.
Receiver layout
- Volume (A/B): Locks/unlocks the SR300, adjusts channel volume or configures channel settings, etc.
NOTE: Settings for each channel include: SET FRQ (set the channel frequency), SET RF (set the RF output of the HT300), SET AUD (set automatic attenuation of the channel output level), SET DIS (set the display mode)
- Auto Scan: Turns automatic searching for available frequencies on or off. Only works when the SR300 is unlocked.
- Auto Sync: Turns automatic frequency synchronisation between the SR300 and HT300 on or off. Only works when the SR300 is unlocked.
- IR sensor: Used to sync frequencies with the HT300.
- LCD screen: Shows the status of Ch-A and Ch-B, including audio level, RF level, frequency/channel, mute, etc.
- Frequency/Channel module: Selects a preset frequency/channel module for Ch-A and Ch-B. Only works when the SR300 is unlocked.
- Antennas: Connect the supplied UHF antennas.
NOTE: Do not cover this area while using the SR300. - Power button: Turns the SR300 on or off.
- Balanced Out (A/B): 3-pin balanced XLR outputs for connecting to professional audio equipment.
- Power: Requires 12V DC, 1.25A. Connect the supplied power adapter.
- Mix Out: Unbalanced 6.35 mm TS output. Use the supplied 6.35 mm audio cable to connect to output equipment (e.g. a sound processor).
HT300 Handheld Microphone Design
The HT300 handheld microphone body is machined from high-grade alloy for a secure, non-slip grip and good impact resistance. Its well-fitted shape is optimised for holding over long periods without tiring your hand.
The microphone head is made of stainless steel, which protects the capsule inside, increases durability and resists oxidation. Inside the grille is a special thin fabric layer that filters noise and reduces wind noise. It also keeps moisture from the mouth away from the capsule, reducing the risk of rust and damage to the internal components.
The highlight of the handle is the power button, placed where it is easy to reach. Just above it is a small LCD screen showing the operating frequency and battery status, so you can check the microphone's state quickly and accurately.
Handheld microphone layout
- Microphone capsule: Picks up vocals or instruments.
NOTE: Do not hold or cover this area while using the HT300.
- LCD screen: Shows the status of the HT300, including battery level, frequency/channel, mute, etc.
- Power button: Press and hold to turn the HT300 on or off. The button can also turn the auto-mute function on or off.
- Handle/battery compartment: Hold the HT300 here when in use. Unscrew it to insert or replace the batteries, or to prepare the HT300 for frequency/channel syncing with the SR300 via IR.
- Antenna: Transmits the wireless RF signal.
2. Key features of the JBL VM300 karaoke microphone
Strong, stable transmission
The JBL VM300 uses UHF, a high-grade band widely used in wireless equipment. It keeps the microphones stable and less affected by interference from the surroundings. With 200 built-in frequency channels, you can easily change frequency to avoid clashes when using several devices at once.
The system's operating range also reaches 30–50 metres, so you can move freely on stage or in a large room without the signal dropping or the sound cutting out.
Automatic clean-frequency scanning
One highlight not to miss is Auto Scan, which automatically finds the most suitable operating frequency (a “clean” frequency). Instead of searching manually as with traditional microphones, you simply activate Auto Scan and the system checks and selects a “clean” frequency — one free of interference and not shared with other devices.
This is extremely useful wherever there are many wireless devices or crowded radio waves, such as karaoke rooms, stages and halls, studios...
Accurate, sensitive pickup
The JBL VM300 is designed with high sensitivity for accurate pickup and fast response. The captured sound is detailed, clear and free of distortion, so singers can deliver both high and low notes with full emotion.
The sound from the VM300 is highly natural, never harsh or breaking up, even when singing loudly. Both singer and listeners stay comfortable — an important factor in long performances or entertainment sessions.
Outstanding feedback suppression
A common problem with karaoke microphones is howling and feedback. The JBL VM300 eliminates this weakness with powerful built-in anti-feedback. The microphone automatically removes sound coming back from the speakers, keeping vocals smooth, seamless and pleasant.
This feature is especially important in enclosed spaces or at high volume, helping protect the speakers and improving the user experience.
Accelerometer sensor that protects your speakers
Another very smart and valuable feature of the JBL VM300 is the accelerometer built into the handheld microphone. If the microphone is dropped, it automatically cuts the audio signal to the speakers. This prevents sudden loud "thumps" or "crackles" that could damage speaker cones or startle listeners.
This feature shows JBL's attention to detail — always putting the safety of users and the sound system first.
Auto-off sensor to save power
When you put the microphone down on a table and do not use it for about 3 seconds, the system automatically pauses the signal. This reduces unwanted noise when the microphone is not in use and saves a significant amount of power, extending battery life.
Auto sleep / auto wake-up
The JBL VM300 also has a smart control system with two convenient modes:
- Auto Wake-up: When you pick the microphone up again and move it slightly, it automatically reactivates, ready to use without any manual action.
- Auto Sleep: After about 8 minutes of inactivity, the microphone goes to sleep to save battery and extend component life.
3. What other technology does the JBL VM300 karaoke microphone offer?
Beyond its modern design and outstanding sound quality, the JBL VM300 wireless microphone also has many advanced technologies that simplify operation, increase flexibility and expand its applications.
Preset Channel Module
The JBL VM300 comes with many preset frequency channel groups. You can quickly choose an optimal pair of frequencies for both channels, Ch-A and Ch-B. This not only saves setup time but also keeps the signal stable and in sync.
It is an ideal solution for karaoke businesses or event organisers who need to set up many microphones in a short time while keeping connection quality and audio performance.
SHAKE TO SYNC — fast frequency syncing
Another smart upgrade on the VM300 is SHAKE TO SYNC: frequency syncing by gently shaking the HT300 handheld microphone. With this feature you can sync the frequencies of both handheld microphones at once with one simple, quick action, with no manual adjustment on the screen.
It is a unique, breakthrough feature that is a great help in performances or multi-singer karaoke, where setup time matters.
Support for many different channels
The JBL VM300 system can set up and run many different channels independently. It integrates easily into professional sound systems or large commercial karaoke setups.
This avoids frequency clashes between rooms, which is especially important in venues with many karaoke systems running at the same time. Managers can easily configure the system without affecting sound quality between areas.
4. The JBL VM300 pairs easily with other equipment
The JBL VM300 is designed to work smoothly with most audio equipment available today. Thanks to the 6.35 mm (1/4") jack connection included in the set, the microphone can connect directly to many devices, such as:
- Analogue karaoke effects mixers
- Digital karaoke processors
- Karaoke amplifiers
- Mixing consoles
- Power amplifiers with built-in effects, ...
You can freely upgrade or change the equipment in your sound system without worrying about compatibility limits. This keeps your investment cost-effective and makes it easy to upgrade the system as your needs grow.
5. Applications of the JBL VM300 wireless microphone
Not only suited to home karaoke systems, the JBL VM300 also adapts well to many professional settings. With clear sound, high stability and versatile connectivity, it is widely used in:
- Commercial karaoke
- Music stages
- Conference rooms and halls
- Events and talk shows
- Classrooms and live teaching
The JBL VM300 suits any situation that calls for speech or performance, from entertainment spaces to professional settings, giving the best results in both performance and communication.
The JBL VM300 wireless microphone is an ideal choice for anyone looking for a device that combines top sound quality with modern smart technology. With professional sound handling and a practical design, the VM300 meets the needs of both home entertainment and stage performance.
