Description
The AKG D5 is a handheld dynamic microphone made for vocals on stage. Its supercardioid pattern picks up mainly what is directly in front of it and rejects sound from the sides, so the monitors and the PA can be turned up further before feedback starts.
The capsule uses AKG's laminated Varimotion diaphragm and sits on an internal shock mount, which keeps handling noise low when the mic is held in the hand or moved on the stand. The frequency range is 70 Hz – 20 kHz.
As a dynamic mic, the D5 needs no phantom power and plugs into any mixer, powered speaker or audio interface with an XLR cable. It suits singers, MCs and hosts at events, as well as karaoke and rehearsal rooms.
