Description
The Pioneer DJ DJM-S9 is a two-channel battle mixer designed around Serato DJ Pro, and it also works with rekordbox. It is aimed at scratch DJs and turntablists who want pads, effects and a tunable crossfader on the mixer itself, with two USB soundcards so the next DJ can take over smoothly.
Highlights
- Magvel Fader Pro magnetic crossfader with a Feeling Adjust dial for the load, adjustable curve and reverse, plus bumpers in three materials.
- Multi-colour performance pads for Hot Cue, Roll, Slice and Loop, or other Serato DJ Pro functions, with an EL display showing the active mode.
- Six Beat FX buttons and six Serato DJ Pro FX buttons with two banks, and two large levers for switching effects on and off.
- A filter knob on each channel for high/low-pass filtering; Serato can assign other filter effects such as Dub Echo, Noise and Pitch.
- Two built-in USB soundcards and an input switcher to pick any of the four Serato DJ Pro decks.
In your setup
Each channel has a phono and a line RCA input, so turntables or CDJs can run control vinyl or CDs through Serato DVS; rekordbox DVS needs the rekordbox Core plan or above. The microphone input (XLR or 6.35 mm TRS) has its own echo effect, and an AUX RCA input takes an extra source. Outputs are master on XLR and RCA and booth on 6.35 mm TRS, with headphone jacks in both 6.35 mm and 3.5 mm; a peak limiter protects the master. Every control is MIDI-assignable over USB.
