Description
The Genelec 8341A studio monitor is an ideal choice for professional musicians, singers, producers and more, offering accurate sound and outstanding power in a compact, elegant design. With proprietary technologies such as SAM, MDC and ISS on board, it strikes the perfect balance between size and performance.
Genelec 8341A studio monitor design
The Genelec 8341A shares the design of Genelec's other monitors: a compact shape with soft, refined rounded edges. The enclosure is made of premium die-cast aluminium that resists scratches and fingerprints.
It comes in three finishes, Dark Grey, White and Raw, to suit any interior. Its compact size and light weight make it easy to transport and install. The rear panel carries the input and output connectors for flexible system setups.
Genelec 8341A studio monitor sound and performance
Sharp three-way sound
The 8341A delivers clear, lively three-way sound from two 17 cm bass drivers, one 9 cm coaxial midrange and one 1.9 cm metal-dome MDC tweeter. With 550 W RMS from high-efficiency class D amplifiers, it performs far beyond its compact size.
Faster performance
The Genelec 8341A is a perfect fit for applications that demand superb imaging, extended frequency response and short listening distances. Even during long, continuous sessions it stays free of listening fatigue. Its natural, consistent sound comes from The Ones series, part of Genelec's elite range.
Smart Active Monitoring (SAM™) and GLM™ calibration technology
Larger than the 8331A, with extended low-frequency response and higher SPL, the Genelec 8341A studio monitor suits larger listening rooms.
With Genelec's own GLM calibration software, the 8341A also compensates for unfavourable room acoustics and distance delays, so your mixes translate well anywhere, anytime.
The Genelec SAM system is the most flexible and advanced monitoring solution, automatically adapting to the acoustic environment and correcting level, delay and room irregularities. The GLM software calibrates automatically with the advanced AutoCal™ 2 algorithm to suit different working styles and user needs.
Minimum Diffraction Coaxial (MDC™) driver technology
Typical coaxial designs have a somewhat uneven frequency response because of diffraction problems in the less refined designs of some speakers. There is no need to worry with the Genelec 8341A: Genelec's Minimum Diffraction Coaxial (MDC™) driver technology offers all the benefits of a coaxial design while overcoming its shortcomings.
The visible part of the coaxial driver is formed by a flexible curved surround with the dome tweeter in the middle, so there are no acoustic discontinuities, improving imaging and overall sound quality.
Active crossovers working at low signal level
This increases the monitor's flexibility and precision in adjusting and fine-tuning each output frequency response to the specific drivers used. Each driver has its own signal processing and power amplifier, which helps reduce distortion caused by overdriving.
Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS™)
The Genelec 8341A features Genelec's Intelligent Signal Sensing technology, which meets European standards and sustainability goals. The ISS™ circuit monitors the speaker's input signal to detect whether it is in use. If not, it puts the speaker into a low-power sleep mode that draws less than 0.5 watts.
Iso-Pod™ vibration-isolating stand
Set up the monitors freely in all kinds of spaces and positions with the firm, stable support of the Iso-Pod™ isolation positioner/decoupler attached to the aluminium enclosure.
Its shallow four-foot design, made of a special rubber and fixed firmly to the enclosure, slides along the curved surface or curved base so the speaker can tilt ±15° towards your listening position.
Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE™)
To improve the flatness of the speaker system's frequency and power response, Genelec designed a highly innovative enclosure optimised for the characteristics of the monitor's drivers, with rounded edges and gently curved front and sides. It also maximises the internal volume to improve low-frequency performance
Advanced reflex port design
Genelec's vented (reflex) enclosures go back to the S30, first introduced in 1978, and have been continually refined to extend the low-frequency response and sound pressure level of the woofer, delivering prominent, well-defined bass. A long curved tube maximises airflow so deep bass can be reproduced without compression or distortion. The reflex tube ends in a wide flare at the rear of the enclosure, minimising port noise and giving excellent bass reproduction.
