Legendary Studio Monitors Every DJ Should Try

Studio monitors are an extremely important piece of audio gear, because the benefits they bring to DJs are huge. In this post, Muse Inc introduces a few studio monitors that every DJ should try at least once.

1. Yamaha HS7 studio monitors

The Yamaha HS7 is one of the most popular studio monitors on the market thanks to its accurate, faithful sound reproduction. What makes the HS7 special is that it doesn't “colour” the sound, so DJs and producers can hear every tiny detail of a mix. That's crucial when you need to fine-tune things like the frequency balance and the dynamics of a track.

Minimal design, maximum results

The Yamaha HS7 impresses not only with its performance but also with its minimal, modern design. With its elegant black-and-white finish, it blends easily into any studio. It's a great choice for DJs who want a studio monitor that works well and looks good too.

Real-world use in the studio

With its honest, accurate sound, the Yamaha HS7 has become an essential companion for many professional DJs. It suits a wide range of genres, from EDM and house to techno, making it easy for DJs to fine-tune and finish their mixes before performing or releasing them.

2. KRK Rokit 5 studio monitors

The KRK Rokit 5 is one of the most popular choices among DJs, especially those who love electronic music and want a speaker with powerful bass. Its standout features are the signature yellow cone driver and its punchy low end, which brings fast-paced tracks to life.

DJs often choose the KRK Rokit 5 for home studios or small performance spaces, where they need powerful sound that covers the full frequency range.

3. JBL 305P MkII studio monitors

If you're looking for studio monitors at a reasonable price that still perform well, the JBL 305P MkII is the answer. It stands out for its clear, balanced sound across the whole frequency range, and it's especially well suited to beginner DJs.

• Choosing good studio monitors is the first step towards polishing your music as a DJ. The Yamaha HS7 is an excellent choice thanks to its accurate, honest sound, which makes it easy to control and fine-tune your mixes. The KRK Rokit 5 and the JBL 305P MkII are also well worth considering, depending on your needs and your musical style. All of these speakers are currently available at Muse Inc, so you can come in and try them for yourself.
