KRK Rokit 5 G4 Studio Monitor: More Versatile Than Ever!

KRK's Rokit monitors have become iconic, with their matching black-and-yellow colour scheme and outstanding sound quality. KRK recently refreshed its Rokit G4 line with an updated look and some exciting new features.
At first glance the new Rokit G4 looks a lot like earlier Rokit models, but take a closer look and the differences start to show. The overall design has been modernised, giving it a sleeker, more professional look.
Moving on to the tweeter and woofer, this is where we find the biggest physical change in the updated Rokits. KRK decided to switch both the tweeter and the woofer to Kevlar. According to KRK, the new material delivers good sound reproduction and is more durable.
The most interesting part of this update to the Rokit G4 studio monitors, however, is on the back. KRK has added an LCD screen for adjusting the EQ and changing settings. Previous generations of Rokits used separate physical knobs for the EQ; these have now been replaced by a single rotary encoder and the LCD screen. It's very handy, giving you a clear visual of the changes you're making to the sound.
The most important thing about any studio monitor is the sound it produces, and the KRK Rokit G4 doesn't disappoint. This latest version carries on the Rokit tradition: it may not be the most accurate monitor you'll hear, but the great sound it delivers is undeniable. The lows are full and warm, especially for its size, the mids are clear and the highs are crisp.
That said, in the high end you can notice the Rokit's lack of precision — which is part of why the Rokit G4 never sounds harsh. That's actually a plus for most DJs, because it means you can practise for hours on end without your ears getting tired.
KRK has continued the iconic line of its Rokit studio monitors by updating the look and adding useful features. The Rokits keep hitting that sweet spot between great sound and the best value. If you're a DJ or producer looking for a new pair of monitors, the Rokit G4 is one of the best options for you.
