1. Who they're for and what you'll achieve
- Basic course:
– Who it's for: The Basic course is for everyone, even if you've never touched DJ gear or music before.
– What you'll achieve: By the end of the course you'll have a solid grasp of the core DJ knowledge and skills: using Serato DJ Pro and rekordbox confidently, downloading music and organising your own music library, handling the DJ equipment on the market with ease, accurate beatmatching, mixing tracks together with EQ and blending techniques, and recording your own sets.
- Complete course:
– Who it's for: complete beginners and DJs who already mix at home alike — it covers Levels 1–3 in one path, from zero to the club.
– What you'll achieve: The Complete course builds on your skills with advanced rekordbox and the software's in-depth features, setting up basic to advanced DJ systems, handing over between DJs, using Beat FX, taking your hot cue skills further, using Vinyl mode on today's DJ equipment, using acapellas for live mash-ups, scratching and working it into your sets, and transitioning between different genres and tempos within a set. Above all, you'll learn how to build your personal image, so you can stand out and be different.
2. Curriculum
- The Basic course includes:
– 8 lessons of 60 minutes
– 8 hours of practice
– a final contest, about 3 weeks in all
- The Comprehensive course includes:
– 33 lessons of 60 minutes in 6 stages, with 5 contests
– 33 practice sessions with a teaching assistant
– a certificate and a graduation show
