DJ Tips: You Can Now Access Your Traktor Library in Denon DJ Engine Prime

Denon DJ has just announced an update to its Engine Prime software and the SC5000 Prime media player. You can now access your Traktor playlists, cues, loops and tracks from inside Engine Prime and export them to a USB stick or SD card. You can then use that USB stick or SD card to play on Denon DJ's laptop-free media players, which makes managing a music library much easier for Traktor users who want to play on Denon DJ Prime gear.

Other updates include improved track analysis, extra playlist management options and “instant doubles” when DJing with two SC5000 Prime media players.

Being able to access your Traktor library in Engine Prime is a real boon for DJs who want to play on Denon DJ's new club gear but come from a Traktor library full of tracks, playlists and cue points built up over years.

Not only does it mean you can confidently play on a pair of SC5000 Primes knowing you don't have to rebuild your playlists and library from scratch, it also gives you the flexibility to switch between Traktor and Engine Prime using the same music library – say, if you usually play with a Traktor controller and a laptop but prefer to go laptop-free with a USB stick and SC5000 Primes in a club.
