After the SC6000 and X1850, Denon DJ Gets Ready to Launch the Prime 2 and Prime GO

The NAMM Show is just days away! After Denon DJ revealed the first details of its SC6000 players and X1850 mixer, the brand has just dropped another bombshell with two more products: the PRIME 2 and the Denon DJ Prime GO!
Both products are expected to go on sale at Muse Inc. Let's run through the key features of these two systems – DJs and producers had better start saving for the new year!
Denon DJ Prime 2
The Prime 2 is based on the design and features of the Prime 4, which made quite a splash, won several prestigious awards in DJ technology and earned high praise from professional DJs and users alike.
The Denon DJ Prime 2 is a scaled-down version of the Prime 4, with just 2 decks and a standalone mode.
The screen has shrunk from 10 inches to 7 inches, but it's still an HD multi-touch display. As a smaller version, the Prime 2 is also half the weight of the Prime 4 and more compact.
In terms of hardware and design, the Prime 2 keeps and inherits the Prime 4's technology without many changes. You still get Wi-Fi and a LAN connection, so you can easily listen to, download and play music from the built-in online music services.
Denon DJ Prime GO
The Prime GO has a new look and is only about the size of Denon's earlier MC6000 MK2 controller. It still has a large 7-inch multi-touch screen, Wi-Fi and a LAN port, just like the Prime 2.
Its jog wheels are still touch-sensitive, but they're no longer as large and no longer have the small LCD screens showing artwork. There are USB and SD card slots, and it reads music without first having to process it in Engine Prime, Denon's own software.
What really stands out about the Prime GO is that instead of needing power from a computer or a mains input, it lets you play for 4 hours straight without any external power, because Denon has built a battery right into it – a breakthrough no DJ product had ever made before.
True to its name, with the Prime GO you just charge the battery and bring a USB stick or SD card – and even without them, you can play unlimited music over Wi-Fi from the TIDAL library.
The Denon Prime 2 and Denon Prime GO are expected to be available at Muse Inc in 2020, alongside the SC6000 and X1850 Prime Series.
