Vietnam Australia International School (VAS) has always focused on the all-round development of its students – not just in their studies, but also through creative and rewarding extracurricular activities. One of the standout programmes VAS students recently had the chance to join was the KID DJ WORKSHOP, organised in partnership between Muse Inc and VAS. It offered not only hours of fun learning but also a chance for the kids to explore the creative world of DJ music.

After-school activities at VAS are known for their variety and creativity, helping students develop skills beyond their textbooks. One of the most special and memorable programmes was the KID DJ WORKSHOP. It was not only fun and exciting but also helped the students discover DJing – a fascinating and highly creative profession.

Thanks to the partnership between Muse Inc – a provider of professional DJ courses – and VAS, the event gave students a fresh learning experience that combined theory and practice in a lively, inspiring environment.

A learning space full of energy and creativity

The KID DJ WORKSHOP was a huge success, with a dynamic and enthusiastic atmosphere. Instructors from Muse Inc walked the kids through the music equipment in detail, from DJ controllers and mixers to modern DJ software. With the dedicated guidance of professional instructors, the students quickly got to grips with the gear and gained a clearer understanding of how a DJ works.

In this after-school programme, the kids didn't just learn how to use the equipment – they were also free to get creative, blending tracks to make unique mixes of their own. The students got hands-on experience mixing music and creating sound effects, which helped them develop their musical thinking and creativity.

Exploring DJ equipment and learning to mix

Muse Inc instructors introduced them to the basics, such as DJ controllers, mixers, speakers and DJ software. With detailed, hands-on guidance from the instructors, the students got to practise right there at the event, from beatmatching (syncing the beats) to scratching to create unique musical effects. It was a valuable experience that helped the kids not only understand DJing but also discover their creative potential in music.

This after-school programme gave students more than knowledge about DJing: it also helped them develop musical thinking, creativity and teamwork. Mixing music takes attention to every detail, from adjusting the sound and blending rhythms to creating the right musical atmosphere for each event.
