DJ Jake Ryan is a DJ and producer who teaches at Muse Inc. Jake's approach is simple: understand why a technique works, then practise it until it feels natural.

Lessons follow a clear structure: a short explanation, a demonstration on the decks, then most of the hour hands-on, with feedback while you play. You build the skills every DJ needs (beatmatching by ear, phrasing, EQ and smooth transitions), then effects, loops and a well-planned set.

Because Jake also produces music, lessons often look at how tracks are built (intros, breakdowns, drops) so you mix with the structure of the music instead of against it. The goal is not to copy a teacher's style but to help you find your own.
