Laidback Luke Shares 5 Tips for Getting More Creative with Your DJ Sets
At ADE 2019, Laidback Luke teamed up with Digital DJ Tips for a special workshop for DJs, whether seasoned pros or newcomers. He shared some really useful tips on being more creative in shaping your career and on putting the most care into crafting your sets.
One of the things he talked about was bringing new elements into your sets. Lots of DJs stay in their comfort zone and focus only on matching tempos and beatmatching. According to Laidback Luke, the first step to becoming creative is believing in yourself and always being ready to try something new.
He also covered important techniques when playing, such as using cues and effects (FX), and, above all, focusing on the crowd whenever you play a gig. At the end of the talk, Laidback Luke's advice was to PRACTISE, PRACTISE and PRACTISE.
