Jay-Z Becomes the World's First Billionaire Rapper

Rap star Jay-Z has just been named to the world's billionaires list by Forbes magazine, with a huge fortune. Jay-Z is one of the most successful figures not only in the arts but also in business.
According to Forbes, Jay-Z's most significant assets include: his 310 million USD ownership of the champagne company Armand de Brignac, a 100 million USD stake in the cognac company D’Ussé, the music streaming service Tidal, worth 100 million USD, 50 million USD in real estate, and 70 million USD invested in Uber.
He also owns a further 75 million USD in royalties from his music.
Jay-Z said: “Most rappers end up broke or going nowhere. It's time someone stepped up to a new level, became a business leader and opened doors to the future.”
Along the same lines, billionaire Warren Buffett said he had been very impressed with Jay-Z ever since they met 9 years ago, adding: “For a young person growing up, he's an example worth learning from.”
