DJ Duo ARIUS and the “Inspiration” DJ Workshop at Muse Inc
Muse Inc recently teamed up with ARIUS, the well-known DJ duo from the US, to host a DJ workshop called “Inspiration”, where they talked about their music and their journey to the big stages. Let's look back at some of the best moments from the workshop!
1. Who is ARIUS?
ARIUS is the name of the duo Tessa and Matt Nguyen. They are known not just as a musical pair but as a symbol of boundless creativity and relentless drive. Here are some of their biggest achievements:
- ARIUS are widely known on social media for their creative approach to music, with more than 2.2 million followers.
- Matt is also a talented dancer: his crew, Poreotics Dance Crew, won the title of best dance crew in America, which led to work with stars such as Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars and an appearance on The Ellen Show.
- ARIUS made waves worldwide with their stylish performance videos — their cover of “Purple Lamborghini” alone has more than 38 million views.
- ARIUS's original track “WOMP WOMP” has 550,000 views, while “SBS & TATTOOS” has passed 1.4 million.
- The duo has also found success beyond YouTube, with “LOVE IS A KILLA” and “MILLENIALS” each passing one million streams on Spotify.
- Their talent hasn't just won attention online — ARIUS have conquered real-life stages too, delivering impressive shows and unforgettable moments for thousands of fans at international music festivals such as DECADENCE NYE, FORBIDDEN KINGDOM, HARD SUMMER, DANCEFESTOPIA and PHOENIX LIGHTS.
By pushing their creativity and always looking for fresh approaches, ARIUS have built a unique sound. Blending a wide range of bass music with hip-hop gives them room to experiment and break the limits of their creativity.
2. ARIUS and the “Inspiration” DJ workshop at Muse Inc
Muse Inc recently held a DJ workshop with a very special guest: the DJ duo ARIUS. Tessa and Matt Nguyen shared some great stories about how they both became DJs.
Tessa used to be a model and Matt a dancer, but their love of music led them to teach themselves, and within a short time they were already DJing quite confidently. ARIUS then started sending their music to record labels and got rejection after rejection. They didn't give up, though, and were eventually signed by a well-known label that happened to be one of Matt's favourites. Matt Nguyen joked: “Other people don't have to like my music. If the people I look up to like it, that's more than enough to make me happy.”
Asked by someone in the audience why he left a successful dance career to start again from scratch as a DJ, Matt Nguyen replied: “I really loved dancing, but after all that success — I'd reached every goal I had: working with famous people, travelling the world to perform — I felt satisfied and wanted to take on something new. That's why I stopped dancing and moved completely into DJing.”
ARIUS also put together a special mashup to show the audience how it's done, performing it live. In 20 minutes, using 3 randomly chosen songs, they showed how to build a mashup that sounded and looked amazing. Along the way, they shared some handy music production tips and the music sources they use most.
To finish, ARIUS played a high-energy live set that showed off everything they can do and took the atmosphere at the workshop to a whole new level.
With their professionalism, talent and friendly personalities, ARIUS delivered a truly meaningful workshop and passed on a huge dose of inspiration to young people who love DJing.
