Advanced DJ Course: Level 2 at Muse Inc

This advanced DJ course builds on the basics you've already learned. A DJ always brings creativity to their set. Students get in-depth training in advanced skills such as loops, transitions and live mashups, learn more about the DJ's working environment in clubs and lounges, get to know DJ equipment inside out and are ready to play gigs once they finish the course.

Level 2: Advanced
Lesson 1: Advanced software
Students take an in-depth look at the advanced features of DJ software, such as organising hot cues and loops and advanced beatgrid editing, to prepare for their own creative sets.
Lesson 2: Pre-course check
Students are tested on the basics, or on what they learned in the Basic DJ Course, to make sure they have a solid grasp before moving on to advanced skills and knowledge.
Lesson 3: Beat FX
Students learn about Beat FX: how to use them and apply them in their sets, in whatever genres they love.
Lesson 4: Loops & Loop Roll
Students learn the Loop and Loop Roll functions on DJ equipment and how to use them in their sets.
Lesson 5: Vinyl Mode
Students learn how to use Vinyl Mode on DJ equipment, and from there develop more skills and tricks to use in their sets.
Lesson 6: The club / lounge environment
Students hear about the knowledge and experience needed to perform in clubs, lounges and at festivals: how to hand over between two DJs, taking over the decks by mixing into the other DJ's music, and how to avoid some common DJ mistakes.
Lesson 7: Hot Cue
Students learn to use hot cues and apply them in their sets on different kinds of DJ equipment, making their mixing more creative.
Lesson 8: Using acapellas
Students learn how to bring acapellas into a mix, do live mashups and add extra effects to their sets.
Lesson 9: Transitions
Get to know transition skills and techniques within a set: moving between tracks with different tempos, genres and musical colours for a more creative set.
Lesson 10: Assessment
Put everything you've learned on the course into practice. Your instructor tests and assesses you, then coaches you with feedback to develop the creative skills you've learned.
Lesson 11: All about DJ equipment
Students get full training and guidance on every button and feature of all kinds of DJ equipment, from entry-level to professional.
Lesson 12: Recording a creative mix
Apply the skills and knowledge you've learned to record your own creative mix, then send it to your instructor.
